Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will attend a meeting of the Chief Ministers of the nine Maoist-hit States in New Delhi on June 5. The meeting, convened by the Union Home Ministry, assumes particular significance in the wake of the recent Maoist mayhem in Chhattisgarh.
The Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal would discuss the Maoist issue threadbare with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and top security officers.
