Ending all speculations over a possible reshuffle in his Council of Ministers, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Tuesday ruled out any such move for the present.
After the Brahma Parivartan fiasco during the Nabakalebar festival, speculation was rife about replacement of some Ministers.
But with the Chief
Minister ruling out a reshuffle, incumbent Ministers
who were believed to be on the firing line are now relieved.
Patnaik, who returned here from a four-day trip to New Delhi, disapproved the stalling of the Parliament by the Congress-led Opposition.
“The House should be allowed to function. All issues can be discussed on the floor of the House. There is no point holding up proceedings,” he said.
When mediapersons asked Patnaik whether his Government is going soft on the BJP, the BJD supremo said his party maintains equidistance from the Congress and the BJP.
On the Nabakalebar fiasco, the Chief Minister said strong action would be
taken against those found guilty.
