Alleging that regional parties like BJD lack national vision and cohesive policy, the State BJP on Monday warned people that voting for BJD would only create political instability at the Centre after elections.
Slamming Chief Minister and BJD supremo Naveen Patnaik for his remark that Narendra Modi could not be Prime Minister and for seeking vote to elect his party’s all the 21 lok Sabha candidates at public meetings, BJP State spokesperson Sajjan Sharma said Patnaik only wanted to shield his party leaders, including ministers, from different scams.
“Since the Supreme Court is all set to handover the chit fund scam to CBI, Patnaik is trying to save his ministers and other leaders involved in the scam “ Sharma said, adding “instability at Center will provide greater opportunity to Naveen to shield the tainted leaders”. Sharma said the regional political parties does not have national vision and cannot come out with cohesive policy or programme. “The proposal of regional parties to form Federal Front will not be materialized,” he asserted.
He reminded that the third front governments of VP Singh, Chandra Sekhar, HD Deve Gowda and IK Gujural collapsed within months of forming Government. “The toal time they spent in office, if added, would be less than five years that an elected Government is supposed to enjoy for a term,” he said. The coalition, if formed to claim an alternative, would collapse in the face of its inherent contradictions as each group leaders would vie for the post of Prime Minister, Sharma opined.
