Naveen on six-day Delhi visit from today

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik would be on a six-day visit to New Delhi from Tuesday. He would return here on November 9.

"I will meet Finance Minister Arun Jaitley to submit a memorandum on the damages incurred in the southern districts due to the recent cyclone Hudhud. Also, I will discuss about the remaining Central assistance for Pahailin last year," said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Sources said his appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is, however, yet to be fixed. Patnaik had visited Delhi during the last Durga Puja holidays and another visit just after a month has set tongues wagging in political circles here. It is significant to note that Patnaik had earlier written to the Prime Minister after cyclone Hudhud seeking a Rs 500 crore interim assistance relief and rehabilitation package, but the Centre is yet to act on it.

Sources said the State Government has already prepared a memorandum of around Rs 1,000 crore to be submitted to the Centre on the Hudhud damages.
