Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his official residence at lok Kalyan Marg in New Delhi.

With speculations rife over the meeting, Patnaik said to mediapersons, “I met the Prime Minister for 20 minutes. It was a courtesy call.”

He only added that he presented a copy of the book “The Tall Man – Biju Patnaik” to the Prime Minister.

Earlier, before leaving for New Delhi on a four-day visit, the BJD supremo asserted that his party would win the Bijepur Assembly by-election by a huge margin of votes.

“Our development works and several welfare schemes will work in our favour and the ruling party will win the Bijepur by-poll by a large margin,” said the Chief Minister.

Patnaik further said he would attend a high-level review meeting in New Delhi on the upcoming Men’s World Hockey Cup event, which is scheduled to be held at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.

The Chief Minister also offered his best wishes to the people of the State on the occasion of Mahashivaratri.
