Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) president Jayadev Jena said on Saturday said that the BJD Government led by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has shown undue favours to several companies during the last 14 years.
“Patnaik recommended allocation of the Talabira II coal block to Hindalco to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on August 17, 2005 for vested interests. He had a deal with the firm earlier and the recommendation of the coal block was done to favour Hindalco,” Jena alleged.
Whatsoever plea the Chief Minister may be taking to prove him clean and his Government, he cannot escape the CBI net, Jena said further, exuding confidence that Patnaik might have to meet same fate like Madhu Koda in the coal block scam.
Further, he congratulated Debasis Dash on becoming the first Chess Grandmaster from Odisha and announced that the PCC would felicitate him on his return to the State. The people of Odisha will be happy if he is rewarded by the State and Central Governments as well for the achievement, Jena averred.
