BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik seems to have ignored the discord among party MPs as he said on Monday that there are no differences in the BJD Parliamentary Party.
Patnaik told this to the media after holding a meeting of the Parliamentary Party in the party’s chamber in the Parliament buildings in New Delhi on the day.
As if rubbishing media reports that the row among BJD MPs, especially between Tathagata Satpathy and Baijayant Panda, would figure at the Parliamentary Party meeting, Patnaik said the meeting was a “routine one”.
Notably, Tathagata Satpathy had recently kicked off an intra-BJD row by twitting that the Bharatiya Janata Dal (BJP) was out to split the BJD with the help of a BJD MP.
He hinted at Baijayant Panda, who hit back at him (Satpathy) saying the accuser is not an original BJD man.
Panda also followed up with a newspaper article advocating for a self-introspection in the BJD in the wake of the BJP gaining ground at the BJD’s cost in the last panchayat elections.
