Naveen has turned arrogant: Dharmendra

Published on:

Reacting to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s remark of some political parties spreading false propaganda against his Government, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday said Patnaik has turned arrogant after staying in power for a long period.

“It is natural that a person becomes arrogant after remaining in power for a long time.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik now thinks that he is the only person to show dreams to people and none can see dreams. Doing this, he betrays a feudal mentality and thinks democracy as his feudalism,” Pradhan said at a Press meet here.

Pradhan put many questions and wanted to know whether opposing Government inefficiency and failures are termed as false propaganda against the concerned Government.

“I wanted to know if raising questions over under-construction bridge/flyover collapse incidents in Veden block in Bargarh district (over Jeera river), at Bomikhal in Bhubaneswar, at Gurupriya bridge in Malkangiri and at Netapur, Buguda and Nuapatna are false propagandaIJ Is the CAG report on irregularities in Anganwadi services and financial irregularities in Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) are false propagandaIJ” Pradhan wanted to know.

He also wanted to know whether protesting against incidents of pregnant women being carried in cots and slings and giving births in open air is a false propagandaIJ

He said it is the responsibility of an opposition party to protest and raise questions over irregularities and corruption activities of a Government. He said the Chief Minister has no guts to submit replies to questions put by opposition parties and is taking false pleas only.

Notably, the CM while launching Jansampark Padyatra here on Monday had urged his party workers to strongly counter ‘opposition parties’ false propaganda against the State government. He had also stated that parties already discarded by people are building castles in the air.
