Naveen cheating people for last 16 years: Panda

BJP State president Basanta Panda on Saturday termed Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik as an incompetent administrator while drawing two opposite graphs in terms of achievements between the Narendra Modi Government at the Centre and the Patnaik-led State Government.

“During his 16 years of rule, the Chief Minister has done nothing except cheating youth, farmer and woman communities. The people have been neglected during the BJD rule.  But in only one and a half years of coming to power, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has heightened country’s status in the international level. It has given eight medical colleges to Odisha.  A total of 7 lakh toilets, 8 lakh Indira Awas houses and soil testing centres for 14 crore farmers have been provisioned,” Panda said while addressing a gathering here during his Jankalyan Yatra.

Yatra had reached Seriapali village under lakhanpur block and attracted a huge crowd there on Friday. Then it came to Jharuguda.

On Friday late evening, Panda, addressing a Press meet here, asserted that not a single person from Odisha would be affected by the Super Thermal Power Plant, which is under construction at lara in Chhattisgarh.

“BJP is committed to protect the interest of Odisha. I will personally hold a discussion with the Prime Minister about problems of the affected villages. In no case, Odisha will be a loser in lara project,” he said.

Brajrajnagar MlA Radharani Panda declared that Jharsuguda district will be benefited in coming days from various Central schemes. Spectacular improvement in the field of health, drinking water and irrigation is imminent now as Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for this purpose.

Among others, party’s State secretary Kalandi Sarangi, vice president Aswini Sarangi and executive members Dinesh Jain, Mangal Sahu and Naresh Naik and State youth wing chief Tanka Tripathy spoke. District secretary Sunil Panda coordinated the meeting.
