Naveen a participant in West Odisha stir, says KV

Establishment of a High Court Bench in western Odisha is not on the agenda of the BJD Government, which is only politicising the issue. The Government’s attitude is of running with the hare and haunting with the hound, said BJP State president KV Singh Deo on Saturday.

On one hand, Naveen Patnaik is reluctant to accept the demand while on the other hand the ruling party’s own district leadership is fuelling the agitations and is responsible for the law and order situation which is not conducive for holding elections, Singh Deo said.

He said that as Patnaik is the supreme leader of the BJD, the district functionaries of the party cannot dare to boycott the elections. This is clearly being done on his instructions. Hence, Patnaik too is virtually participating in the election boycott stir. As the Home Minister, Patnaik has also failed to break the stalemate arising out of the continuing agitation. Due to this, the agitation has spread like wildfire to other parts of the State.

Due to the deteriorating law and order condition, the State Election Commissioner has admitted that elections cannot be held there and has directly held the State Government responsible. Hence, Patnaik has lost his mandate to continue in office, added Singh Deo.
