It is amply proved that the nature does not favour inequality. Economic inequality is born out of the selfish attitude of man. Without ecology, there is no question of economy; both are complementary.
Ecology means study of relationships between living organisms and their environment. The relationship between man and man, man and animal; and animal and animal in a given environment should be congenial and harmonious. Man should follow the rules of nature.
Where the rules of nature are overlooked and bypassed, all kinds of conflict occur. The economic environment is polluted due to unnecessary expenditure and waste of resources. The rules of nature do not approve of unnecessary expenditure of resources.
We should believe in the rights of co-sharers. In our democracy, the powerful people have monopolised the economy, which they feel to be their birth rights. But it is a very dangerous trend. In nature, no animal other than man hoards resources beyond its requirement. The hoarding of resources beyond the needs is an offence. Ethics should be followed to maintain the dignity of democracy.
Every individual has right to live with respect and allow others to live with respect. The money or currency represents resources of the country in a civilised society and nation. If the money is hoarded beyond the knowledge of the democratic administration of a sovereign, it is an offence.
The economy can be enjoyed up to the extent of sustainability, but it cannot be shared or owned personally, individually and capitalized. Since independence, the economy or the finance of the Indian sovereignty is driven in a wrong way.
The wealth, whether it is personal or of a country, earned through illegal practices other than a natural process is termed as black and can be termed as organised loot and plunder of the national wealth. A new concept doing the round of late is cashless economy. The cashless economy can pave way for building a natural economy. Here wealth can be earned through hard labour but not accumulated for personal gain of a few alone. Black money or the hoarding of money in a secrete manner on the other hand is illegal and sinful. The rise and fall of GDP of a nation always depend on the honesty of the people of that land. Dishonesty finally leads to ruination of an economy.
The writer is a retired forest officer and knows well the simple living of the forest dwellers and their honesty and simplicity. They don’t chaet and hoard to pander individual selfish interest.
Considering the above facts, when the Indian society is thoroughly dominated by the economic blackmailers and offenders, the Prime Minister’s demonetisation move is highly welcoming. The PM has demonetized the high currency notes of Rs500 and Rs1,000 since November 8. This has manifold advantages, including formation of a transparent financial environment. If such steps had been taken earlier, the suffering of the common man, because of illegal hoarders in shape of high currency valued notes, would have been alleviated to a great extent.
Now, almost all the Government departments are neck-deep in corruption. The common man is greatly suffocated because of this. Democracy does not mean that a group of dishonest people by means of black economy bribe people to power and create a situation where the common people suffer.
In our country, most of the politicians, bureaucrats and traders are corrupt. Those who are condemning the PM for such daring efforts should think that if the country’s capital is siphoned off by a few through malpractices, the common man’s miseries will compound.
Climate change disasters are due to loss of forest wealth, which is done by mafia propelled by black money. Such unprecedented action of Modi will strike the hoarders hard. Again, black money pollutes the social environment of a country. The people utilize black money in purchase of land, procurement of gold, debentures and shares.
lavish expenses during wedding are an example of utilisation of black money. There are lots of forgeries in land deals. Black money is key to the running of the real estate business these days. There are fictitious and anonymous sales and purchases including transfer of properties in others’ names. Now the sub-registrars offices of the State are almost running without any land deals since November 8.
