A talent hunt programme by Hyderabad-based People Combine Group on September 2 here saw a lineup of high-profile speakers sharing their views on identifying, encouraging and nurturing talented students starting at an early age and guiding them to take on careers in pure sciences, applied sciences, technology etc.

Presiding over the event, Vice Chancellor, GM University, Sambalpur, Dr Atanu Kumar Pati said, “Educationists should know to identify, motivate and nurture intelligent students in school itself. A child prodigy is not always obvious.”

Dr Pati and other dignitaries also rolled out the “Budding Einstein Talent Search Competition” for Sambalpur. The talent hunt drive is open for students from classes 7 to 10 across the country.

“Only few children are born with silver spoons.  Others do not have either the means or the opportunities to showcase their talents.

As responsible citizens, we must do our bit to train our teachers to spot talent and give them platforms to grow,” said Head of Public Relations, People Combine Group Siddarth Baliga.

Students, parents and academicians from different schools in and around Sambalpur joined. Prominent of them were HOD of Environmental Sciences, Sambalpur University Dr Sanjay Kumar Pattnaik, Principal, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Sambalpur Manish Kumar Srivastav and Deputy Registrar, GM University Uma Charan Pati.
