The National Youth Day and Swami Vivekananda birth anniversary was celebrated at the Jaydev Sadan here by the Swami Vivekananda Trust on Thursday.
In the morning, a yoga camp was inaugurated by Paradip Port Trust (PPT) FA and CAO SK Sahoo in which yoga guru Dhanurdhar Nayak, Ranjit Ray and Brundaban Nayak were present.
later, an awareness camp on AIDS was held by the trust. The rickshaw and trolley pullers participated in a rally to create awareness on the dreaded disease. In the afternoon, a religious meet was held among the preachers of different religions.
In the evening, in a memorial meeting presided over by managing trustee BK Nayak, editor of vernacular daily, Prameya Gopal Krushna Mohapatra and Joint Secretary of Revenue Department and former Paradip Municipality Executive Officer Abhay Kumar Nayak spoke on the life, philosophy and achievements of Swami Vivekananda.
Among others, PPT Deputy Chairman N Bhayapuri, PPT Trustee PK Mishra and BM Jena were also present. A vote of thanks was offered by trust secretary Pratap Kumar Nayak.
