The National Commission for Scheduled Caste (NCSC) on Wednesdaysummoned Home Secretary Asit Tripathy, SC/ST Department Secretary Surendra Kumar and Director General of Police (DGP) KB Singh for personal appearance on August 21 in connection with the killing of five villagers in Kandhamal district.
The three officials would brief the Commission about the actions they have taken on the recommendations made by the former after its on-the-spot investigation.
last week, Commission Chairman Pl Punia had visited Kandhamal and dismissing the logic of the security forces that there was a crossfire between them and the Maoists leading to the death of five civilians at Kurtamguda in Kandhamal district.
At that time he stated that the Commission would suggest some recommendations to prevent such incidents and welfare of SC people and would monitor its implementations.
