A three-member team of the National Commission for Schedule Castes (NCSC) on Sunday reached here to conduct an investigation into the gangrape and suicide of the Dalit girl of Kunduli.

The team led by NCSC Member Yogendra Paswan later left for Koraput.

“The culprits cannot roam freely. The commission would ensure that they will get stringent punishment in the case. We will force the State Government to take action against the culprits,” said Paswan to mediapersons.

Notably, acting on the petition filed by Koraput MlA Krushna Chandra Sagaria and the victim’s brother, the NCSC had ordered a probe into the incident.

The commission had earlier asked the Koraput district SP to submit information regarding the incident.

The team is likely to meet the Chief Secretary and DGP.

Meanwhile, a  delegation led by Professor  Purnachandra Mallick and State BJP SC Morcha general secretary Susant Mallick met Paswan at the State Guest here and submitted a memorandum. He assured them all steps would be taken to punish the culprits and he would give a proposal for a CBI probe into the incident after looking into all the angles.
