National parties neglecting Odisha: Naveen Patnaik

BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday slammed the national political parties for neglecting Odisha on various fronts time and again.

The Chief Minister said this while participating in a Jansampark Padyatra held at the Salia Sahi slum here. Without naming any one, Patnaik alleged that the national parties are destroying the Federal structure of the country and are working only for their interests.

He said such parties have misled the people by presenting a distorted picture of development of Odisha even though the State has been a model of growth in the country.

“People of Odisha have not and will not accept such parties. The BJD is committed to work for development of the 4.5 crore people of the State. The BJD is also committed to protect Odisha’s land, water and air,” said Patnaik.

The BJD’s Jan Sampark Padayatra programme aimed at informing people about the State Government’s welfare programmes and also the Centre’s “neglect” was launched on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. The Padyatra would culminate on the birthday of loknayak Jayaprakash on October 11.
