A preparatory meeting for the second National Odia Sammilani to be held at the Deen Dayal Upadhaya Marg in New Delhi on May 11 was organised at Hilapatna here on Thursday.
The Sammilani to be organsied on behalf of the International Odia Swabhiman Pratisthan is aimed at uniting all the Odias under a single forum and upholding Odia swabhiman (self-esteem) across the world. The preparatory meeting held under the chairmanship of pratisthan coordinator Susanta Kumar Sabat resolved to place Odisha and the Odia development-related proposals at the conference. Representative of many Odia organisations and public representatives apart from common Odia people are expected to join the conference.
Among others, Subas Panda, Bharati Patra, Ramesh Chandra Sahoo, Trinath Bisoi, Srikanta Sabar, Pradeep Choudhury, Bhismacharya Choudhury, Pabitra Nayak and Hrushikesh Mishra were present.
