The 18th death anniversary freedom fighter Narayana Birabara Samanta, known as Kujang Gandhi, was observed by the Paradip Port land looser Farmers’ Association here on Sunday. Association chairman and noted trade union leader Santosh Kumar Pattanaik presided over the meeting.
Chief guest Baishnab Charan Patnaik and chief speaker Goura Mohan Sahoo recalled Samanta’s contributions in the country’s freedom movement. General secretary of East India Oil Refinery labour Union Padma lochan Das and joint secretary Niranjan Naik, president of Oil Refinery Contract labour Cooperative Society Manindra Guru, Biswambara Tarai, Arup Kumar Patnaik, Abhiram Samal, Damodar Mohapatra, among others, who were present, spoke about the life and achievements of Narayana Birabara Samanta and also remembered his contribution in establishment of the Paradip Port.
