Nalco is the dream of the people of Odisha and we are committed to realise the dream. The company is not only a partner in the industrial progress of the State but also empathetic towards social wellbeing and cares for the environment,” said Nalco CMD Dr Tapan Kumar Chand while visiting the Open leaning System, a school for the differently-abled, on Saturday.

“Moreover, disability is not inability. Although disability poses some limitations, it cannot deny the right to dignity, aspirations and dreams. So, instead of pitying the lot of differently-abled, one should nurture their potentials through guidance and creation of opportunities,” said Dr Chand.

Dr Chand interacted with the special children and presented them educational kits and fruits. He was accompanied by Nalco’s Directors and other senior executives. Wheelchairs were also donated to the school.

Earlier on the day, Dr Chand along with company Directors participated in a mass plantation drive at the HRD Centre of Excellence, Nalconagar here. So far, the Nalco has planted about seven million trees and has also taken up avenue plantation along the National Highway from Bhubaneswar to Cuttack.
