The Prime Minister is giving priority on education of girl children through Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao Yojana, said Union Steel and Mines Minister Narendra Singh Tomar.
Inaugurating the ‘Nalco Ki ladli’ scheme under the ‘Beti Padhao-Beti Bachao’ programme of Union Government, along with Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Nalco here, Tomar told that meritorious girl students from BPl families will be financially supported through this scheme.
Addressing the large inaugural ceremony, Tomar said the Central Government emphasised economic development of weaker section of the society through Jan Dhan Yojana and Mudra Bank Scheme.
Addressing the gathering, Jual Oram thanked the Prime Minister and Mines Minister for allocating two coal blocks along with Patangi mines to Nalco.
Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the UPA Government had given coal blocks to capitalists, but the present Government allocated coal blocks to PSUs like Nalco.
The Ministers unveiled the statue of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar at Ambedkar Stadium. They laid foundation stone of Nalco Specialty Eye Care Centre and launched Rural Water Supply Scheme.
Nalco CMD KC Chand presided. The Ministers visited the Nalco plant.
