The Nagarika Samaj has demanded stopping of student politics in educational institutions. Party convenor Prakash Rath in a Press release stated that students are indulging in violence rather concentrating on their studies and urged the political parties not to support student politics.
Rath said deployment of huge police forces at the Utkal University campus in the wake of the repeated clashes between student groups has put the law and order in other parts of the city at risk. The Samaj also asked the irate students who blocked the road in front of Utkal University on Saturday as to who would be hold responsible for the death of a woman who was stranded in the road blockade and died.
