Several civil society bodies, women organisations, general public and senior citizens forums from Kujanga localities have opined that the State Government should consider a longstanding demand for NAC tag to the area.
Speaking to mediapersons on Friday, the leaders of the campaign fumed that political parties such as BJD, Congress and BJP have acted half-heartedly for NAC status to Kujang. Rupali Das, leader of a Kujang woman body, demanded that the tag is a long overdue for Kujang given its urban and population growth.
Meanwhile, we have approached Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Urban Development Minister Puspendra Sing Deo for intervention.
The leaders warned of holding a stir in coming days, if the demand is ignored. Members from Kujang lawyers Association, Azad Hind Club, three traders associations, Kujang Athlete Club and Kujang Press Club were present.
