The National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) Odisha Regional Office celebrated the National Girl Child Day across five districts of Koraput, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkanagiri and Deogorh. The bank has been supporting various tribal development projects in these districts and 250 girl children of the project beneficiaries were invited on the occasion.
Nabard has also identified and felicitated fourteen girls who have become inspiration for others in their area. CGM Nabard Odisha Regional Office C Udayabhaskar advised the girl children to focus on studies, nutritional food and assured that the support of Nabard will continue in the project areas.
Project Director, Odisha Community Tank Development and Management Society, Department of Water Resources, Government of Odisha, Madhusmita Sahoo was the chief guest and interacted digitally with the girl children. She motivated the girl children and advised them about the importance of education and hard work to excel in life. Further, the Nabard also felicitated girl children of their support staff. All the District Development Managers of Nabard from 30 districts of Odisha also participated.
