Naba meets Union Min to expedite projects

Published on:

Odisha Health Minister Naba Kisore Das has met Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary in New Delhi and demanded more funds for expediting health projects in the State.

While both the Centre and State are giving priority to development of infrastructure for providing quality health services, efforts are ongoing to provide corporate style healthcare. In Odisha, the State Government has taken steps for ensuring quality health service to the patients without the latter incurring any expenditure.

The Odisha Government is planning to develop health services on PPP mode by setting up 100 or 200 bedded hospitals at 25 different places of the State. Besides, there are plans to provide financial assistance to the family members of the patients. In the process, a proposal has been submitted to the authorised committee of the Centre for development of health infrastructure at Jharsuguda, Angul, Badbil and Bhadrak. Minister Das requested the Union Minister to approve this proposal.  Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari was also present during the meeting with Chaudhary.
