Good news for health, fitness and lifestyle enthusiasts, senior citizens, students and children as the N-5 area of Nayapalli near Jayadev Vihar in the capital city is likely to get a full-fledged park by December-end.
The Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has commenced work of the park. Spread over around three acres of land, the park is set to get a facelift with proper pathways, additional benches, garden along with other facilities including lighting. The fully functional park is expected to be open for public by the end of December
As per the locals, N-5 didn't have any park though the space was designated for it long ago.
A BDA team led by Chief Horticulturist AN Dhar removed the unauthorised structures like a concretised cricket pitch and sheds early on Thuesday for smooth commencement of the facelift work.
The BDA horticulture wing also plans to increase the height of the park’s boundary wall by adding iron grills above the existing wall. A watchman’s shed has already been constructed. Soon, water sprinklers would get added in the park along with development of a good garden by the horticulture team.
Sources in the wing said there is a plan to set up open-air gym along with children’s play equipments in the park over next few months once it is completed.
Notably, the BDA has already introduced open-air gym equipments in 15 parks across the city.
