Purnachandra Behera (42), a daily labourer of Bamadeipur village of Arisandha panchayat under Nimapara block, who is suffering from blood cancer has sought Government assistance.
Behera’s wife, three daughters, one son and old mother, all of whom depend on him, came to know about the disease in August and borrowed Rs 30,000 from a self help group (SHG) and took Behera to the Acharya Harihar Cancer Hospital in Cuttack.
Now, Behera is at his home struggling with the painful disease. The family members and villagers have urged the State Government to provide assistance to Behera for proper treatment.
