The Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) is likely to be reopened in the first week of October under strict Covid-19 guidelines, informed NZP Director Sashi Paul on Friday.
Keeping the present situation in view, a special SOP adhering to the coronavirus guidelines would be prepared for the visitors after consultation with the State authorities.
The zoo has been closed for public since March after Covid-19 outbreak.
NZP sources said that a fixed number of visitors may enter to maintain social distancing and avoid congregation inside the zoo.
