Villagers of Shalajharia Dalit Sahi under Bhapur block in Nayagar district on Saturday staged a ‘Rasta Roko’ at Bijupur in protest against the lackadaisical attitude of the administration in supplying water to them during the current summer season.
Out of three water supply projects run by solar pumps, one has been defunct due to technical snag. The two other projects have failed to supply water, reasons of which are best known to the concerned authorities. The villagers had lodged a complaint before their Sarpanch but to no avail. Thus, they were forced to block the road in front of the Bijipur High School.
