The Vigilance Police on Friday caught Nayagarh district’s Darpanarayanpur outpost ASI Balakrushna Das red-handed for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 3,000.
He was caught in his office while taking the bribe from complainant Abhimanyu Barad of Malisahi village to supply a copy of postmortem report in the Ranapur police station case registered in connection with unnatural death of Barad’s three-year-old son.
His residential house at Baunsiapada in the district was also searched. He was arrested and forwarded to court.
