The Soro police, in connection with the murder of a 40-year- old man, arrested his 35-year- old wife and her 32–year-old paramour.

The accused duo laxmi Singh of village Kianalia and Bairagi Sahu of village Baunsapal were forwarded to court after being booked under Sections 302 and 120(b) of IPC on Sunday.

They were further sent to jail on rejection of their bail petitions .

Gobinda Singh was murdered by an unknown miscreant on Wednesday evening. His throat was slit while he was returning to his home along with wife laxmi  passing through a small jungle near his village.

Following the murder, the deceased’s wife had informed to police that the miscreant had fled the scene under the cover of darkness after committing the crime before she could react.

The police after receiving her FIR had doubted the complainant from the initial stage of investigation. They had zeroed  in on her an  finally  unearthed the murder mystery.

Inspector- in-charge of Soro police station Kartik Malik said the motive behind the crime was illicit  relationship between the accused persons.

“Since laxmi had extramarital affairs with Bairagi, Gobinda was opposing the relationship. Despite Gobind’s warning, the relation was going on  unabated. In order to eliminate Gobinda, the accused duo,

laxmi and Bairagi, had hatched a conspiracy. And according to their plan, the assailant committed the crime finding an opportunity,” said IIC Malik.

“The acused duo confessed to the crime and weapon of offence, a sharp edged knife, was seized from the possession of Bairagi,” he informed.

According to police, initially laxmi had  married to one person of Kudumpali village under Nilgiri police station limits and she had two children out of their wedlock.  After death of her husband, she returned  to her parent’s house in Kainalia village with  children.

During her stay she had developed love relationship with Gobinda and got married to him. However, she again developed relationship  with  Bairagi after coming in contact with him.
