Mystery shrouded the death of a medical student who reportedly died of drug overdose at a MKCG Medical College Hospital hostel on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Suhani Patnaik, a PG first year student in the Dermatology, Venereology and Leprosy Department of the college.
While the exact reason of death was yet to be ascertained, official sources said she was taking medication for migraine and died of drug overdose. Police said they reached the spot on getting information from the medical officer.
“We got a call from the PG Women’s hostel about the incident. The medical student was unresponsive and rushed to the hospital where doctors declared her dead on arrival. There has been no allegation from the family members or suspicion of foul play until now. A case of unnatural death has been registered and investigation is underway,” police informed.
