Mystery shrouded the case of a married woman, who was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the bedroom of her house here late on Saturday night.
Family members of the deceased, identified as Swarupa, who was workingd in a private hospital here, alleged that she was murdered while the husband of the woman claimed she committed suicide.
The deceased’s sister Sasmita Acharya alleged that she had witnessed on different occasions when her brother-in-law used to torture and beat her sister. She further claimed that her sister was killed.
However, the deceased’s husband Pravat Kumar Moharana said when he came home and knocked at the door, there was no response. So, with a duplicate key he gained entry into the house.
After he opened the bedroom window he found Swarupa hanging from the ceiling fan.
The Saheed Nagar police after sending the dead body for postmortem began investigation into the incident.
