A decomposed body of a 30-year-old youth was found from a pond at Telibhata under the Town police station on Wednesday evening.
The body was identified to be of Abdual Bholu of Dipu Para area in the town, police said.
The police said the deceased left his home on Tuesday and did not return. later, his body was found floating in an abandoned pond in Telibhata area by the local residents. Getting information, police rushed to the spot and recovered the body and sent it for post -mortem.
Town PS IIC Savitri Bal said the police have sent the body to District Headquarter Hospital for post-mortem. After a report is received, the reason of the death can be ascertained.
The family members of the deceased alleged that he was murdered and thrown in to the pond by someone.
They also demanded a probe into the matter.
