Mystery still shrouds the death of two girls of Sundargarh district whose bodies had been recovered from a forest in the Simdega area of Jharkhand on Sunday.
Even as they cremated the bodies after postmortem, the family members have claimed that their daughters were killed.
A condolence prayer was organised in the St Merry Convent School at Birmitrapur on Tuesday for death of one the two girls, Sradha Saloni Soreng (14) who was a Class IX student of the school.
Sources said Sradha, a native of Patratolli of neighbouring Jharkhand area, was a day scholar of the school and she was a multi-talented student as she was doing well in both classroom study and sports.
During a hockey match, Sradha had come in contact with Sunandini Bage (20), a native of Lachada village under Gurundia block in Sundargarh district, whose body was found along with hers.
Sunanidhi was staying in a private mess in Rourkela’s Hamirpur area. She was taking hockey coaching from a hockey player named Merry Minati Purty.
“We suspect some foul play in the deaths of Sunandini and Sradha. It is not a suicide case,” said Arbind Bage, elder brother of Sunandini.
However, the Birmitrapur police claimed that they have no idea about the case since the matter is being investigated by the Jharkhnad police.
