The Sadar police on Wednesday produced a minor Dalit girl before the District Judge and Session Court to record her statement. The court recorded the statement under Section 164 of CrPC. The victim girl informed the court that the allegation made by her was false as she filed a case against her parents being biased by some people.
later, the court handed over the minor girl to her parents, who were the accused as per an FIR of the victim, informed DHRPC DSP Santanu Kumar Padhi. According to Padhi, the victim girl was on Wednesday medically examined at the District Headquarters Hospital before being produced in court.
Notably, the Dalit minor girl, a student of class 10 of a local school of Arakhia village under Kendrapara Sadar police station limits, on Tuesday had met Kendrapada SP Satish Kumar Gajavhiye, alleging that her brother- in- law Purias Behera allegedly had raped her several times in connivance with her parents. When she opposed the move, she was allegedly beaten by her brother-in-law. Even, the victim alleged that her brother-in-law forced her to keep physical relationship with another youth. When she denied, she was physically assaulted. The police had detained her parents, brother-in-law and a youth of her village.
