Muslim voters in the city on Wednesday conducted a mass prayer in front of a mosque at Jadupur protesting Ekamra BJD MlA Ashok Panda’s candidature for the coming polls.
Around 200 Muslims came in a procession and gathered in front of the Masjid to create public opinion against Panda. They said the MlA failed to develop the area under his constituency during his tenure.
The MlA neither gave attention to establishment of a Madrasa for their children nor took steps for beautification of the mosques in the area.
The leaders also stated that Panda failed to address issues relating to health, sanitation and sewerage in the area. They appealed to BJD president Naveen Patnaik not to give ticket to Panda to contest again.
