The working committee of the Netaji Birthplace Museum Trust here has decided to reprint all the priceless books written on Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.

The committee headed by the Tourism and Culture Minister Ashok Chandra Panda has also decided to initiate steps to enhance the corpus fund of the trust from the present Rs2 crore to Rs5 crore. The committee at a meeting here on Saturday chalked out plans for a grand celebration of the legendary leader’s birth anniversary on January 23. The committee passed a proposal to hold an art exhibition on the occasion in the museum premises depicting the life history of Netaji.

The star attraction of the museum, the light and sound programme, which is now available in English, would also be presented in Odia, Hindi and Bengali, the committee decided among other such programmes to attract tourists to the national museum. It was also decided that the musical fountain of the museum would be made operational from January 10.

In order to give a picturesque touch to the landscape around the museum, it was also proposed that the Cuttack Municipal Corporation take initiative to paint all the buildings adjacent to the museum in ivory colour to match the double-storied ancestral house of Netaji that was converted to the museum in 2003.
