Governor-designate of Jharkhand Draupadi Murmu would take oath of office on May 18, a Raj Bhavan communique in Ranchi said on Thursday. Murmu, tribal leader and a two-time BJP MlA from Odisha’s Rairangpur constituency, is the first woman leader from the State to hold a gubernatorial assignment. Commenting on her new role, Murmu has said, “It is not just a post; it is a responsibility and I will carry it out with dedication.” She thanked the Govt for giving her a chance to serve people.
