The Freethought Party of India has strongly condemned the murder of the atheist writer, freethinker and academician Dr MM Kalburgi.
The party organsied a protest meeting here recently which was attended by its president Dr Bijayananda Kar, general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire, and two vice-president Prasanna Kumar Karbar and Harishchandra Kar and many others.
“Two freethinkers Dr Narendra Dabholkar and Dr MM Kalburgi could not be tolerated because they had the guts to speak the truth and they did condemn the caste system and idol worship backed by blind belief. So they were killed on August 20, 2013 and
August 30, 2015, respectively,” said party general secretary B Ramchandra CST Voltaire.
A seminar titled ‘Eka Prathanabihina-Pujabihina-Babamukta Bharat Gathan Pain Desasare Kalburgi Nka Pari lekhaknkara Abasykata Rahichi,’ was also organsied.
Speaking at the seminar party president Dr Bijayananda Kar called upon public authorities to take possession of the movable and immovable properties owned by people under the cloak of spiritualism and divine culturalism.
