Khariar BDO Narayan Chandra Naik in Nuapada district has lodged an FIR against Zilla Parishad member Ajaya Dharua and another person accusing them of attempting to murder him.
As per the FIR, Dharua entered in to the block office with one Surendra Behera at about 1pm on Thursday and tried to assault Naik with a sword covered with a piece of red cloth. “I saved myself by holding his hands,” said Naik to newsmen after lodging the case at the Khariar police station.
Naik said Dharua had requested him to approve the bills of a construction work which he had done at Birighat village. However, the BDO did not listen to his plea as the work had not been approved by the district administration. “He must have been instigated by a few other anti-socials to attack me” said the BDO.
