A gangrape and murder accused, who had escaped from police custody in Ganjam district on August 15, has been rearrested.
Thirty-year-old Babaji Nayak of Chakundapalli, one of the main accused in the gang rape and murder of a minor girl at Bali Sahi near Bhanjanagara on August 21 last year had been nabbed on August 14, 2015.
He, however, managed to escape from police custody on August 15 from the police station. Ganjam SP Narsingha Bhol had suspended a constable in the police station after the incident. With this, police said all the accused in the gangrape and murder case have been arrested. On September 24 last year, police had arrested other two accused, Budu alias Sushant Nayak (25) Kalia Nayak (24).
