Muktikanta Biswal would now start his second journey from July 30 to Bhubaneswar from Rourkela to meet and request the Chief Minister for his intervention for completion of the second Brahmani bridge and upgradation of the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) to a super specialty hospital.
Notably, the activist had trekked more than 1,350 km in 71 days to reach New Delhi from the steel city to meet and remind the Prime Minister Narendra Modi of his promises about the two projects for Rourkela but was not allowed to meet the PM.
Briefing the mediapersons, Biswal told that as the two projects carry much importance for the people of Rourkela.
PM Modi had promised the projects during his visit to Rourkela on April 1, 2015 in the presence of CM Naveen Patnaik and Sundargarh MP Jual Oram. But due to inordinate delay in project work, he had started his Delhi mission.
He said he sought help of Oram first to make an appointment with the PM.
But instead of that how he behaved is known to all, said the activist.
Biswal said he had personally visited the work site of Brahmani bridge and found that the construction was going on for name’s sake only.
That is why he has decided to walk all through to Bhubaneswar to meet the CM to request him to intervene in the matter for early completion of the projects as the CM was also present in the meeting where PM had promised, Biswal asserted.
Among others, Yuba Jagruti Manch convener Gopal Jena and senior advocates S Ojha and B Das were present.
