Rourkela activist Muktikanta Biswal would be trekking from the Naveen Niwas, the residence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, to the residence of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, covering a distance of 800 km for an amicable solution of border disputes between the two States.

He will start his journey on Gandhi Jayanti on October 2. “The recent border dispute between Odisha and AP has disturbed us. We feel as if we are not living in an independent democratic country,” said Biswal. Biswal will first hand over a memorandum in favour of Odisha CM for a permanent solution to the dispute, then he will walk all through to APand hand over the same memorandum to the AP CM. During his trekking he will apprise the people of Odisha and AP regarding the importance of the issue and its solution, informed Biswal. The intention behind the programme is to spread the message of peace among the people of the two States which will definitely strengthen the bonding between the two States, Biswal told.

It may be noted that Biswal had walked all the way to New Delhi covering about 1,400 km in 71 days during April-June 2018 to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remind him of his promises made to public at Rourkela regarding the upgradation of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) to a Medical College and Super Specialty Hospital andconstruction of a second bridge over river Brahmani near Panposh. Though he was not properly responded to in New Delhi from the PMO or the Sundargarh MP, but he managed to create much media hype.

He had gathered support and sympathy of youth mass too. So, again he had undertaken a walk to Bhubaneswar in July, 2018 from Rourkela to meet and request the Chief Minister for his intervention in the same issues as the CM had shared the dais where PM had promised to the people of Rourkela of the two projects.
