MSP Metallics workers hold fast in J'suguda

Published on:

Around 200 workers of MSP Metallics here protested at the district Collectorate alleging that they had not been paid their salaries since January 2015.

A five-member group also sat on fast-unto-death demanding that the salaries and PFs of all workers were paid immediately.

The workers said that the factory was shut in January 2015 without any advance notice to its 500 workers and staff members who were not paid their salaries.

The aggrieved workers claimed that they had already brought the issue to the notice of the Assistant labour Commissioner and the district administration, but no action had been taken.

They said that the apathy of the company management and the district administration had forced them to sit on a hunger strike. They said that they had requested the management of the MSP Mellalics to clear their dues and PF in case it decided to shut down the factory for all time to come.

Meanwhile, MSP Metallics management could not be contacted for a comment. The workers urged the district Collector to intervene in the matter for a solution.
