MSP Metallics contractors' stir enters Day 4

Published on:

MSP Metallics contractors’ agitation reached the fourth day on Thursday with 22 of them staging hunger strike in front of the company office at Budipadar of Jharsuguda.

The contractors allege that more than Rs four crore is due to be paid to them, but the company is not paying them their dues since long five years.

District labour Officer Arun Roy said that contractors are not treated as labourers and labour laws cannot do anything in this issue. But keeping industrial peace and harmony in mind, a possible negotiation can be made to resolve the bill pending issue.

Company officials didn’t comment on the issue by remaining tightlipped.
