The Parliamentary Railway Convention Committee led by Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab visited Bhubaneswar on Thursday to discuss the initiatives taken by the East Coast Railway towards scrap disposal system and commercial utilisation of surplus railway land.
Other MPs who accompanied Mahtab are Derek O’Brien, TK Rangarajan, Avinash Rai Khanna, Arvind Kumar Singh, Dr Vijayalaxmi Sadho, Janak Ram and Rahul Ramesh Shewale.
The green initiatives taken by the ECoR and use of SPV methodology in financing development needs of the zone would be discussed on Friday, said an official release.
The committee has already reviewed the railway initiatives at Chennai and Kolkata, the release informed.
