The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch on Saturday sought permission of the State Government to attach property of Safex Infra India ltd, which has allegedly duped lakhs of investors.
The EOW submitted documents relating to the Safex Infra India ltd to the Finance Department in this regard. “As per procedure, we have sought permission from the Government to go ahead with attaching property of the Safex Infra,” said a CB official.
The CB had earlier sought permission of the Government to attach property of four chit fund companies against whom similar complaints had been made. The Crime Branch in September last year had raided the offices of Safex Infra in Bhubaneswar, Brahmapur and Chhatrapur following complaints of illegal money circulation schemes with a monthly turnover of nearly Rs 1 crore and also arrested some of its officials. According to sources, 15 acres of valuable lands and other properties are under the company’s ownership.
