The Vigilance police on Wednesday intercepted Susanta Kumar Sahoo, Inspector-in-Charge of the Motu police station in Malkangiri district and seized unaccounted cash of Rs 2.8 lakh. Vigilance officials intercepted Sahoo’s Maruti Ertiga car on National Highway-16 near the Khordha SP’s office while he was on his way towards his native village Nakhara in Cuttack district. The cash as well as Sahoo’s car were seized. Following the interception, Sahoo’s office room in the Motu PS, house at Nakhara and brother-in-law’s house at Ranihat of Cuttack city were being searched. Further investigations were on.
