Sir,
In spite of having a couple of cameras installed at the busy junctions in Bhubaneswar, signal jumping by impatient motorists is frequently witnessed. The way motorists jump the signal and drive head on against the oncoming vehicles causes jitters among the rules-abiding motorists. Probably the cameras fixed at these junctions are defunct and serve as showpieces or the cameras are not focused to capture the vehicle registration numbers and the specific offences. In the busy junctions with a moderately heavy traffic density, traffic rule violators can cause unwarranted and unpleasant situations if the problem is not addressed seriously by the traffic police.
