The mother of the minor boy, who had been brutally beaten up under custody at the Hirakud police station, on Friday lodged a written complaint with Sambalpur SP Anirudha Singh against four police staffs and one contractor accusing them of torturing her son. On the other hand, a team from the Northern DIG office visited the victim’s house and asked his family members about the incident.
It may be noted, the police administration has already suspended Hirakud IIC Sabitri Bal and a Constable and dismissed a Home Guard on the charge of torturing the minor boy.
Similarly, the State Human Rights Commission has registered a case and directed the Northern DIG and the Sambalpur SP to submit a report within seven days.
